Simply the best-selling in the Dry Eye Pharmacy
The Dry Eye Pharmacy will have pride of place on The Body Doctor Ltd stand C60 in Hall 4 at The Pharmacy Show, highlighting The Eye Doctor best-selling antibacterial eye compresses, eyelid wipes and cleansers, as well as eye drops and mists. The aim is to inspire pharmacists to display and sell the popular treatments for common eye conditions.
The stand will also showcase the innovative MacuPrime eye supplement for normal eye health and reducing the risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and the ReMind brain supplement.
Three carotenoids, lutein, meso-zeaxanthin and zeaxanthin have been discovered in the macula at the back of the eye and the brain and food supplements with the correct levels of these carotenoids can be beneficial.
MacuPrime is the only eye supplement that can be backed by over 15 clinical trials and ReMind is a first of its kind supplement that has been shown to have positive effects on the quality of life of Alzheimer’s patients.
The Body Doctor will also demonstrate how health screening for patients using the pioneering LifeMeter can help assess their risk of developing AMD or Alzheimer’s disease, helping to set a pharmacy apart with personalised care.
The LifeMeter uses the most advanced technology to measure carotenoid levels, with its accuracy scientifically proven in over 30 peer-reviewed studies. It painlessly measures the concentration of carotenoid nutrients from a visitor's fingertip in less than a minute, with no skin pricks.
The presence of these nutrients in the skin is a key indicator of someone’s wellbeing. Those with a low carotenoid level have been shown to have a higher frequency of eye strain and fatigue, trouble driving at night, poor contrast sensitivity and slower visual and cognitive processing, plus an increased chance of sunburn and brain fog. Studies have also shown that carotenoid concentrations are lower in people with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.
Another attraction on stand C60 will be the Dry Eye Kit which was designed with pharmacies in mind and showcased at The Pharmacy Show last year. It features three of the best-selling products in The Eye Doctor range.
The kit offers the full recommended treatment for dry, sore or gritty eyes but takes up less space on the shelf. It is easy to sell and offers good value to both the pharmacy and the patient.
The pack includes The Eye Doctor’s Essential Antibacterial Dry Eye Compress, Biodegradable Eyelid Wipes and preservative-free Intensive Relief Eye Drops which make up a recommended three-step eyecare regime of heat, cleanse and revive.
The compress, eyelid wipes and eye drops are suitable for dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, blepharitis, chalazions and the associated symptoms of irritation and sore eyes.
The compress can also be used for relieving the inflammation from colds and to soothe headaches and migraines. It features Sterileyes, an antibacterial shield permanently bound to the fabric fibres.
Sterileyes is clinically proven to reduce potentially harmful bacteria remaining on the compress surface after use by up to 99.9%. The patented, stay fresh, skin-friendly technology inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria over the compress surface.
New products
Showcasing at the event will be the two new products launched since the last show, The Eye Doctor Advanced Triple Action Eye Drops and The Eye Doctor Advanced Comfort Eyelid Oil.
Targeting all three layers of the tear film, The Eye Doctor Advanced Triple Action Eye Drops feature an advanced microemulsion lipid-based formula for treating and preventing symptoms of moderate to severe dry eye.
The triple-action formula is clinically proven to strengthen the tear film and repair the ocular surface, helping cells to recover from inflammatory damage. The main ingredients are trehalose, a natural sugar used in ophthalmology and sacha inchi seed oil from an Amazonian plant which helps with moisture retention, as well as lubricating hyaluronic acid and glycerol, a moisturising agent.
With patented non-blurring DEMET technology, the new Advanced Triple Action Eye Drops are suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
The Eye Doctor Advanced Comfort Eyelid Oil has a lightweight and non-greasy formula to provide gentle care for dry and irritated skin on the eyelids and is also suitable for contact lens wearers.
Enriched with a combination of castor, almond, olive, peanut and soybean oils, the new Advanced Comfort Eyelid Oil offers deep hydration, addressing dryness and helping to regenerate and soften the sensitive skin on the eyelids. The inclusion of evening primrose oil, known for its skin-conditioning properties, adds extra benefits, contributing to a smoother and healthier appearance around the eye area.
The new oil also contains aloe vera and calendula extracts which offer soothing relief for irritated skin, reducing redness and discomfort.
The Body Doctor’s Sales and Marketing Director, Sam Wymer, said: “We're thrilled to be back at The Pharmacy Show for another year.
