Delivering the perfect platform for unity and inspiration
Community pharmacy has been facing many challenges over the past few years: funding cuts, reimbursement cuts, staffing levels reduction, automation, ageing population, increased demand for primary care settings… With revalidation, GPDR and FMD, 2018 brings new changes while pharmacists are still dealing with the old ones. More than ever, The Pharmacy Show is here to help pharmacists and guide them through difficult times and new challenges to a brighter future. The objective of this 11th edition is to support pharmacists’ journey through transformation and prepare them for revalidation.
The show maintains its delivery of high quality education and awareness through more than 150 educational sessions across the 7 different conference streams: Keynote Theatre: driving pharmacy towards a better future; Business Theatre: top practical tips for quick wins and how to tackle funding cuts; Pharmacy Technology Theatre: embracing the digital revolution; GP Pharmacy Theatre: integrating community pharmacy with GP; Pharmacy Services Innovation Theatre: the nation’s best innovations; Clinical Theatre: major therapy areas with advanced clinical content; Public Health & Wellbeing Theatre: from illness to wellness.
The programme has been designed with a steering panel of professionals brought together to help direct and support the education programme for the show. The sessions will help pharmacists and their staff keep up with all latest developments, grow their business, improve patient outcomes and give them all the practical training and advice they need to move forward from many challenges the pharmacy sector has been facing over the past few years.
The Keynote Theatre will specifically feature sessions on GDPR, FMD and other important challenges facing community pharmacy through 2018-2019. Not only will pharmacists get access to the best speakers across the industry, the programme will give them actionable learning and inspiration they won’t find anywhere else. All sessions are 100% accredited CPD and all have been designed for pharmacists to gain sufficient planned and unplanned learning towards revalidation.
A new online platform, ‘Pharmacy Connect’, is being launched to support pharmacists finding a peer as part of the shows support for revalidation. A Peer-to-peer Networking Hour will be organised for peers to meet in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a nice cup of tea. The Pharmacy Show also provides an opportunity to listen to colleagues who are delivering new services and discuss new product entries with the 400 exhibitors. Visitors will be able to take advantage of exclusive offers from exhibitors available only at the show, find ideas, increase profits and revitalise their business. New this year are the ‘Career Clinic’ consultations organised by the i2i Network for aspiring practice pharmacists. After completing a free online needs assessment, they will receive a dedicated 1:1 slot with an experienced GP Practice Pharmacist to review their learning needs, prioritise their development areas and consider their scope of competence. Pharmdoctor will offer for the first time a highly discounted Unlimited PGD Clinic Package to support pharmacists to administer and dispense over 125 POMs via PharmaDoctor PGDs.
Rx Advisor and ECG also return to the show with their live flu and CPR training workshops at a discounted rate across the two days. Additional sessions have been organised to cover the highly demanded Infant & Child Vaccination Training.
