Carys Lloyd the Community Pharmacy Collaborative Lead (CPCL) for Merthyr Tydfil locality in the Cwm Taff Health Board. Within Carys’ role as the CPCL she will arrange quarterly collaborative meetings with all 13 pharmacies in Merthyr and liaise information from Community Pharmacy Wales (CPW), Cwm Taff Health Board and the Merthyr Tydfil Cluster. Carys will also attend Merthyr Tydfil Cluster meetings bi-monthly and report any information from the collaborative meeting to them.
Carys is also a qualified Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) in an independent community pharmacy in Merthyr. As well as assisting the pharmacist with checking Carys can also carry out several services such as Smoking Cessation and Discharge Medication Reviews (DMR’s), both in which she is qualified and can provide safely to high standards. Carys’ pharmacy career spans over 15 years and seeing several changes during this timeframe. She likes to keep up with her continued professional development and with recent changes for pharmacy technicians to work under Patient Group Directions (PGD’s) very much looks forward to what the future for pharmacy technicians can hold.
