Jay Badenhorst qualified as a pharmacist in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2001. As a seasoned executive in multi-site community pharmacy operations, he brings over two decades of dynamic leadership and business acumen to the PDA. He was the C&D Community Pharmacist of the Year in 2015, bringing a holistic perspective to organisational leadership. Jay served on the Board of Management of the National Pharmacy Association for six years, most recently as Vice Chair, before joining the PDA. During this time, he was also appointed as a non-executive director on the board of the NPA insurance business. For three consecutive terms, he was the Chair for Community Pharmacy Tees Valley and is designated a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Jay has a keen interest in social justice and international humanitarian law and was awarded his LL.M. by studying this field whilst completing his master’s degree in law.
