Within Kate’s role at Avicenna, she works very closely with the executive team within Avicenna, Regional Managers, The Governance team and her team of Pharmacy Technicians. Kate is the lead Pharmacy Technician in Wales for Avicenna, she provides the most up to date information that pharmacy technicians need to ensure they are practicing in line with their Job roles, incorporated in this role is providing services herself, which include the discharge medicines review’s and a flu clinic in the winter. Kate started out in pharmacy 18 years ago and has just progressed ever since. Kate absolutely loves her patients and the interaction with them, she continues to this day to progress and excel in her career, with most recently being crowned “Community Pharmacy Technician of the Year award” with APTUK in September this year. Kate plays a pivotal role in staff training and development, mentoring trainee dispensers and pharmacy technicians, and helping many colleagues achieve their dispensing certificates. She has also been instrumental in training techs to safely deliver services like DMRs and smoking cessation.
