Shalina Anwar
ICS Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead,
Birmingham and Solihull ICB
My name is Shalina Anwar and I graduated from Manchester University School of Pharmacy in 1999 and did my pre -registration year with a community pharmacy chain. I spent 20 years of my career at this chain doing a variety of roles, starting off as Relief Pharmacist and then a store based Pharmacist. I was an Area Pharmacy Manager across West and East Birmingham and moved on to be the Pharmacy Deployment and Development Manager, which involved the leadership of all Relief Pharmacists that worked across Birmingham and Solihull. After 5 years in this role, I became the Pharmacy Operations and Leadership Manager for the West Midlands, driving operational excellence. I then moved into the role as Regional Pharmacy Deployment Manager for the South West, leading the deployment of company employed Pharmacists and locum resource across the region. I joined the NHS in 2022 as the ICS Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead for Birmingham and Solihull, leading the work around community pharmacy integration across the system. I am a strong advocate for the community Pharmacist role and how community pharmacy clinical services can contribute to positive healthcare outcomes for patients.
